Miss You was written as a playful, anti-love song. It’s a song about needing space. In these crazy times, there are people that we can’t be close to that we want to be near but sometimes there are loved one who are with us all the time and we just need some (social) distance.

Miss You was inspired during a weekend in New Mexico. I was away from home for two weeks and brought my guitar to work on some music. I wrote two or three romantic love songs but had run out of inspiration. I took a break and went for walk. I was thinking about and idea for a song about being away from home and missing my wife. But that seemed like it had been done a million times before so I decided to turn it around. Instead of writing a song about missing someone, I decided to write about needing space. I thought about how we can only miss someone when they are not with us and the song sprouted from that idea. I didn’t want it to be too serious, so I used a fast, upbeat, pop-punk style to keep it light-hearted.
